Megan T. - Coach
Megan is a respected and accomplished volleyball coach entering her 13th year of coaching and her 10th season with Dynamo. Since beginning her coaching career in 2014, Megan has worked extensively in age-class club volleyball, coaching female athletes across the 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U, and 18U levels.
Megan has built a reputation as a coach who can motivate, challenge, and empower young athletes to maximize their potential. Her coaching style is rooted in high standards, strong relationships, clear expectations, and a deep understanding of what young female athletes need in order to compete with confidence.
In addition to her club coaching experience, Megan has served as the Head Coach of the Varsity Girls program at Collège Béliveau for the past two high school seasons. In both years, she led the team to Top 2 finishes in league play and strong playoff performances, further demonstrating her ability to build competitive teams that improve throughout the season and perform when the stakes are high.
One of Megan’s greatest strengths is the way she supports the mental and emotional side of high-performance female athlete development. She has a calm, steady presence in pressure moments and helps athletes understand that confidence, composure, and belief are skills that can be trained. Her athletes know her for reminders like, “We’re not done yet,” and, “All of the pressure is on them — we just have to go out and play our game.” That ability to keep athletes grounded, focused, and ready for the next point has become a defining part of how her teams compete.
Megan also brings a strong eye for talent evaluation and player development. She understands how to assess athletes honestly, identify roles that support their growth, and put players in positions where they can build confidence, contribute to the team, and continue developing toward a higher level. Her approach helps athletes understand their strengths, make smart decisions, and take ownership of their development.
Megan’s background as a competitive dancer also influences the standard she brings to coaching. Having trained at a high level through her teenage years, she understands the discipline, work ethic, attention to detail, and composure required to pursue excellence. That background shows in the way she teaches athletes to prepare, respond to pressure, and carry themselves as part of a team.
Alongside Eku Malcolm, her coaching partner; Megan brings 35+ years of combined coaching experience across club, high school, provincial team, and post-secondary volleyball. Together, they have coached athletes from 14U through 18U and have been part of 15+ years of Top 10 finishes. Over the past five seasons, their teams have consistently finished among the top programs in the province, including 5+ straight years of Top 5 finishes at Provincials.
Most recently, the group Megan and Eku coached from 15U through 18U finished Top 5 at Provincials every year, won a Silver Medal at 18U Provincials in 2025, won a Bronze Medal at 18U Provincials in 2026, finished Top 8 at Best of the West, and helped eight athletes continue on to play post-secondary volleyball.
Megan believes volleyball should be competitive, challenging, and fun. Her teams are expected to compete hard, support each other, stay composed, make smart choices, and bring purpose to every practice and match. She wants athletes to feel confident in who they are, understand what they bring to a team, and learn how to perform without fear.
When she is not in the gym, Megan works as the Practice Manager at a local veterinary hospital, travels whenever possible, and enjoys spending time at home with her animals.
Coaching Philosophy
Megan’s coaching philosophy is centred on empowering young female athletes to believe in themselves, compete with confidence, and pursue excellence in everything they do. She believes great teams are built through trust, effort, accountability, and athletes who are willing to challenge themselves while supporting the people around them.
Her goal is to create an environment where athletes can have fun, stay composed under pressure, make smart decisions, take ownership of their development, and become the best versions of themselves on and off the court.
